The reality we all forget: just because you have a gun you're not King of the Hill when the you-know-what hits the fan: as always, better to think of what you'd do now when it's not happening than for the first time when it is. This is the value of these forums, you get a chance to "rehearse" thru thinking.

I'd give up what the perp demanded in such a case - I can't outdraw a drawn gun and I have health problems, I can't try some physical way to disarm the BG. I'd pray and give up the wallet or whatever.
What would you do? (if you have thoughts about this)

Americanism is a matter of the spirit and of the soul.

I just saw this on another forum. My thoughts are the victim has had some training. Either that, or he is just one BA dude.
I don't think I'd comply with the BG, but until one is put in that situation, you just don't know.
"Everybody gets knocked down in life. How you choose to get back up is up to you!"
This summed it up:
1. How do I get out of this?
2. How do I even the score?
You can't even the score when someone is pointing a gun in your face unless you're the master kung fu fighter, which I'm not.
Best to comply, as long as he just wanted the keys to the car. I have insurance.
Now, if the BG was trying to force me INTO the car - that would be a big HELL NO! My gut instinct would be RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
"I'm not fluent in the language of violence, but I know enough to get around in places where it's spoken."
It's when you go to evening the score when you get into trouble with the law. Any deadly action taken must be with the time you are threatened. Well except maybe Texas...lol
When I was the guys age and someone pointed a gun at me and wanted my truck I would have given it to him. When he go in it to leave I would run like heck because the truck probly wouldn't have started anyway...
Hope and pray for a distraction, for the BG to lose focus on me long enough to draw and fire (or otherwise act to counter the situation).
Until then, ...comply.
"Don't make me assume my ultimate form!"
" Put it next to the sprinkles."
Gotta ask why this guy was wandering around outside his house unarmed at night? Sounds to me like he met the BG for some reason.
Compliance with a BG does NOT guarantee one's safety.
This type of situation is highly dynamic and fluid. Unless we experience it, any response is purely guess work based only on what we see in the video.
Audio cues from the BG
How the BG is handling the weapon
Distance between me and the BG...does it change? Many variables, each changing from moment to moment.
I can (say) I would do this or that; but the reality is unknown as adrenaline is pumping.
The decision to fight or comply will vary from person to person.

Do what you can; then do what you must
Have to wonder how he got himself into the position he was in. What was his SA level? Also, the way the video sounded, he was not armed at the time. That would play a big part in the response to the BG.
As to how to react to the situation, comply until you have a chance to turn the tables. Or fake a heart attack, hopefully the BG will decide he has better places to ve.

If most of you did anything other than comply, you would be dead.
When I was robbed at gunpoint 25 or so years ago and long before concealed carry was legal here (luckily only happened once in my life so far), I was lucky enough to fool my assailant with my eye movements to think there was someone behind him. When he looked over his shoulder I attacked his gun hand, eyes and groin. I think I hit him in the head and face with his gun too, but it all happened so fast I couldn't tell.
I was lucky and he never pulled the trigger. I made tracks from the scene with him collapsed on the ground making some ugly noises. When I showed up at a friends house a block away he freaked out when he answered the door to me with a gun in my hand.
I still had the S&W J frame I grabbed away from the robber in my hand sideways and didn't even realize it. Turns out it wasn't loaded.
If you look at the video, 14 seconds in is the kind of thing I would be looking for, which may or may not help in any given situation.
25 years ago I was a lot faster, stronger, and less aware of my own mortality than I am today. I also had some recent police training at the time which was fresh on my mind at the time, though I was never a sworn officer then or ever. But training helps.

Trained to not allow someone to muzzle me with a firearm any longer than it takes to move on him/the gun. Being muzzled, the gun could go off at any time for any reason and you're still just as shot/dead whether they meant to pull the trigger or not.
In that vid, the perp is using a two handed hold initially, which is harder to take from him, but still doable. If you can reach out and touch it [ in this vid you could ], it's time to take it from him. Action beats reaction, so just looking for that moment he's close enough to touch it is all it takes to give him something to think about other than robbing me.
Might use DATD and draw/fire at near point blank, might just use the hand skills and getting core off line of the muzzle and take it away. He was close enough in a few instances to affect a weapons take away, but you really need to have the skills training and be able to let "ugly" go to work and end it.

IF I was armed, while walking back into my house, throwing the door into the perps face/path, would be all one might need to draw and fire, even if through the door at him.
This is why dogs offer a great distraction. Perp is wondering what dog will do next, and then when he is more worried about getting attacked by dog, then shoot his lights out.
