Moved From St. Louis County to St. Louis City

    Hello!

I'm new here and I have a question about updating my permit.

Here in Missouri, we have 30 days to update our address with the Sheriff's office and get a new permit. I tried contacting the Sheriff's office to find out what exactly this entails and what I needed to bring with me, but person I spoke with (who was supposed to be in charge of this) was vague and didn't give me a list of documents that I would need to bring.

Does anybody have experience with this?

From what I understand all you have to do is write to the Sheriff of the area you just left and the area you have moved into and let them know you have moved. If you have a permit issued by DOR have that changed when you have your license changed.

However, if you have a new license that was issued by the Sheriff then that will probably have to be changed at the Sheriff's office. Talking to them on the phone is an exercise in futility, the guy in charge is not helpful. I had an issue with my CCW application recently and got nowhere on the phone, I had to go into the office where they sorted my problem out in minutes.

To answer your question, I would think your DL with a new address would be all they need.

Thanks for answering Mike! I didn't think of getting the new license first and then going to the sheriff.
