Took all of 15 minutes. Now a few weeks wait. Nice to live in a some what layed back rural county where officers are not stress out. 78 more dollars gone too.

Congrats on your renewal! Keep it up.

Your State needs to offer a lifetime license, it would save you good citizens hassle, time, and money.

How many years is an NC license good for?

    ^^ My thought. Either a short permit time or a long-time CC'er.

That's what was throwing me off, NC started the program in 95 so I thought they may not have been 5 year permits to start and changed it later.

Used to be $50 for 4 years in Washington state. For the last couple years at least something right out of the Twilight Zone...the last time I renewed-2 years ago it is now $32 FOR FIVE YEARS. When I learned of this my first thought was some bureaucrat messed up cuz this type of thing just doesn't happen in my state.

I have not lived in the blue ridges of NC for long time you dont have to re shoot to renew just fill in forms? This is why I did not get a NV carry cause you have to go back to NV to re shoot ever 5 years.

I think AL use to be /still is the same way go in say howday , how are the kids and get your permit .

Congrats. Well worth the $78 spent.

I remember when I got my CCW permit earlier this summer. I was so excited about getting it that I must have called 5 times to check on the application status.

WrongRecroom I read some where that's it the discretion of the sheriff if you need to take anything over and the shooting would be part of that. Never herd of any one having to do it..

    313 Yep, well spent money

K7lvo Was that in Oregon in 1983? I had to stop and think when I started and look it up when florida first issued ccl's. I though I carried in 87 but my wife said '88. Who am I to say differently.

I just renewed my permit here in WV for the first time since getting it 5 years ago.

I actually know the Deputy who does the background checks, saw him today and he asked if I had picked mine up, he found out when he called my office but I was on vacation when it came through. He also told me that had he known it was my renewal he would have "hurried" it up a bit. I told him that was ok, and appreciated him for that. It's good to know people like that.

    I'm good until 2018.
