What does your EDC like to eat?

My P229 is going to "officially" become my EDC. She's only had some federal and then Magtech JHP, but has eaten everything without an issue. Now that I'm going to be official, I've taken a large interest into what I will be carrying and I've read some great reviews on the Speer Gold Dot 9mm +P. Whats everyone else's preferred ammo? Lets say carry and even range.

My EDC is a p229 also, in 40, there are three more in my family and we have yet to find anything they won't eat and put out on target. My p224 is just like the rest of the family too. We like our Sigs.

The CW9 that is carried frequently here is happy with anything, and it is currently stoked with Federal 124 gr +P HST. In 9mm, I do prefer the +P level.

The 9mm JHP from DoubleTap do just nicely on the CZ P-01. Speer GD bullets, IIRC, at least back when.

Any of the Major Manufacturer's premium Self Defense ammo should work out well in your gun. HST, Gold Dot, PDX1 are probably the most common out there, and each should be available in +P if you want it. Then you have the Buffalo Bore, Underwood, Double Tap, and a few other brands that are loaded real hot for velocity. I like the Winchester Ranger-T in my M&P. It's never caused me any issues with FTF or FTE's in the 100rds I've used of it for practice and reliability of feeding.

Range ammo, lately I've been using whatever I can find that is cheap. Usually Federal in the white box. But I've run Winchester White Box, and Remington with no problems as well. The only ammo I have ever had any issues with was the PMC with the generic aluminum casings. I refuse to use that stuff ever again.

Mine (P229) currently holds some Golden Sabers because that's about all I could find around here at the time. But, she's a glutton and will eat ANYTHING!

My Glock 32 (.357SIG, compact), which is my primary carry, goes with Gold Speet Dot GDHP's.
My RIA 1911 goes with Speer Gold Dot 200grn. +P GDHP's when I carry it.

SW40ve I had recently, SW9ve I have now and the wifes SR9 eat everything ive thrown at any of em from white box to pdx 1 gold dots, hydro shocks, Hornady Critical Defense Duty Defence, +ps UMC and even some old steel case stuff my buddy had.

Favorites are in +p, gold dots, Hornady Critical or Duty, PDX1, HST, Hydroshocks, for edc depending on what I can find in that order 124 grain. Next would be 115 grain non plus p same brand order.

fmj doesnt really matter cuz it will likely punch a hole all the way thru anyway, but given a choice and fmj all I had Id have to break out the 124 grain NATO first.

The beautiful thing about revolvers as edc is they're omnivorous. I can feed it pretty much anything.

My m&p 40 loves 165gr gold dots and has feeding problems with critical duty ammo.

I carry an HK; so far I've never found anything it wouldn't eat up and spit out.
