This is pretty neat !
Ever wonder about where most of the fatal shootings and murders
happen in your area?
The Link lets you create a Graphical Map of deaths by various
means using statistics compiled by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) You can go National or State level.
Of course this doesn't tell you if it was Good guys or Bad guys ,
you'll have to dig into the statistics for that.

Pretty good tho pity only 1989 thru 1998.
PA was 11 deaths per year and really only showed higher than average for Philly area. Suicides and auto injuries were above those.

The part I found interesting is comparing the firearm deaths to homicides.
I live in Virginia, so I'll use those numbers as an example:
Firearm avg. deaths per year = 963
Homicide avg. deaths per year = 539
That means the an average of 424 deaths per year, were caused by firearms, but were NOT homicides. I wonder if this part includes accidents (which should be a small percentage), *suicides & justified shootings. If it includes justifiable shootings, I wonder how many?
*note: suicides were listed as avg. 806 per year (no causes listed).
I'm still a little skeptical about these numbers, I think there is still a political agenda here.

but old...perhaps I should move?
I was told that most murders occur within 10 miles of home...we're moving...

Interesting link! Minnesota the "land of 10k lakes" has less deaths due to drowning than the national avg.

With that many lakes, naturally, everyone learns how to swim. Makes perfect sense!
