I seem to remember the AG saying that it would be mid to late January before the reciprocity list was out. Here's to Phil Kline getting that done before he leaves office. His replacement concerns me.

Outgoing AG Phill Kline has an NRA rating of A+.
Incoming AG Paul Morrison has a C+.

    My concerns right now are:
    1. Reciprocity will not be actively sought by the new AG
    2. The procedures for renewal are not yet determined. Since the AG sets them, keeping the license could involve some stupid steps.

Cline has been very good at getting this all in place for us. I spoke with his office this past week and they are compiling a list of other states. However I understand that it is all available to review by Morrison so it could change.

As for Morrison, I do not know what he will do for or against us. Remember even though the law has been passed it is all up to him on how he iterprets it.

Yep, I was told in January they would release info on reciprocity.

Check out Ks AG web site. He says he will announce in December. If he keeps to his word, it should be anytime. Hope Mo since my son lives in Ks.

    Kansas AG website comment

I found the Kansas Attorney General website and looked under the "Frequently Asked Questions about CCW" section:

    Kansas CCW FAQ

    * If I have a CCH license issued by another state and Kansas does grant reciprocity to that states licenses, when can I begin carrying a concealed handgun in Kansas based on that out-of-state license?

Answer: No license issued by another state will be recognized in Kansas until January 1, 2007. On and after January 1, 2007, the Attorney General will publish a list of states whose CCH licenses will be recognized in Kansas, however, if a person is a Kansas resident, he/she must have a Kansas issued CCH in order to carry a concealed handgun in the State of Kansas. (Kansas residents will not be legal to carry concealed based on a license issued by another state.)
