    Santa got busted last year!

Looks like a good place for a first post. This happened to me last Christmas eve.

My wifes family know that I'm a gun guy. I have never really talked much about it with my mother-in-law. BUT on Xmas eve, she got an eye full.

We had been to two family parties and returned home to put the kids to bed. Around 11:30, kids were asleep and Santa was hard at work in the living room when there was a loud knock on the door. It seems my Oldest daughter had left her gift behind at Grandma's party.

When the knock came, instantly my dogs started barking. Santa was panicking! I hushed the dogs, and answered the door (Momma Claus ran upstairs to intercept any waking children.) My wife's mother and stepfather were standing at the door with the forgotten gift and leftover ham. I invited them in and took the ham to the fridge. That's when I heard my step-father-in-law say, "Why are you wearing gun clips on you belt?" (grrrr, they're called magazines... what is he talking about anyway?)

I slowly realized that I had removed my denim shirt that had served as my concealment. This didn't hit me 'til I had turned to figure out what he was talking about and exposed my 1911 side to the both of them.

I could see the gears kick in to overdrive as they both figured out that I was wearing the same clothes I had on all day. 2 + 2 = Oh damn.

The funny thing is I've never heard a word about it, but I get pat down hugs from my mother-in-law now.

    Merry Christmas

Merry Xmas to you too and -

I wish my dear Mom were still alive - she used to love the fact that I carried, even tho she was stuck in old UK - where self defence is a crime!!

Nah, It's more like an awkward dance. She goes low with the arms... I give her the weak side hip and we do a little circle!.

Good story. I am also new to this forum. My mother loves the fact that I carry a concealed pistol. Everytime she hugs me, it seems that she always has to tap it. Occasionally she will even ask very quietly if I have it on me. - Happy Holiday's everyone.

Cool stuff. My mother in law always gives me the fifty dollars it cost to join my gun range every year for a Christmas present.

That's a funny story, In-laws can be strange and unpredictable creatures...

Here's a situation I face. My wife's folks live in Michigan's upper peninsula where hunting is a way of life. My father-in-law owns several long guns, just for that purpose.

When I bought my Sig, the topic came up in conversation, and I was set upon by my in-laws...

"Why do you need one of those?" "There's not enough crime in northern Michigan to justify a hand gun!" "Don't you ever bring that thing to our house!"

Needless to say, I made my in-laws come to my house for Christmas this year, and call me mean spirited, but I made sure my cover shirt rode up a couple of time in front of them
