Another + for the Glock 42. IWB hybrid holsters

I was considering plopping money down to get a specific G42 holster but today I though "what if" and dropped the 42 in my G19/26 Foxx hybrid holster and I was pleasantly surprised that it fit and retained surprisingly well. The pistol is obviously looser in the holster but since my body provides most of the retention pressure, the 42 holds snug and the detent pressure during draw/reholster is nearly identical to my 26 or 30S.

    G26

    G42

Bless Gaston's heart, all Glocks share so much DNA that this is possible. Even though the width of the 42 is narrower than the bigger pistols, the shape of the trigger guard is the same making it possible to share hybrid holsters between these guns.

    Gotta love Glocks!

While I do not own any Glock's if I were to change that I would look at a Glock 42 sometime in the future.

I would still get a new holster. One designed for it. While it might fit in the holster, it is still too wide for the G42. The kydex shell is shaped for the wider slide and frame. In my opinion, you are reaping the benefits of the slimmer G42 by using a holster designed for the double stacks.

    Just my opinion!
