    Atlanta this weekend

Hey all. The wife and I are traveling to Atlanta for a short get a away. I've read the laws as they pertain to CC in GA but I just want to make sure I'm reading it correct. I'm from NC so I know they accpet it there.

    1. Signs carry no law correct?
    2. We don't have to notify an officer if stopped?
    3. Can carry in a resturant, just not a bar?

We plan to visit places like the aquarium, world of Coke, the Zoo and possible the natural museum of history. I've not found anything on their website that says you can't carry in those locations, am I missing something?

    1. Correct

Not sure about Coke, but the aquarium and the zoo both say no firearms. Zoo doesn't check but sometimes the aquarium does.

One place anyone visiting Atlanta should go is "The Varsity" restaraunt. Some of the best food around and a very unique atmosphere! Now I'm hungry for one of their hamburgers and chili-fries hmm...roadtrip

As an Atlanta native-son I love The Varsity despite the healthy and family oriented changes made by the founder's kids after his death. That said, however, it appears to be an acquired taste - whenever I took a newcomer to The Varsity they usually did not have a good opinion of the food. I love it but much of that love is nostalgic.

I travel to Georgia alot and carry every time I go. I've been stopped at road blocks and have never had a problem with my current Alabama CC license. As far as I remember there are very few places posted. Be sure to check the sites listed above because I know Georgia has been pushing bills through that change alot of the restrictions that can be put on CC'ing within the state.

1-3 are correct. Signs carry no weight, but if asked to leave by a manager or representative of the manager, you'll need to leave or risk being arrested for trespassing.

The answers are all here - signs carry no weight of law, there is no requirement to disclose and you can carry in a restaurant that serves alcohol just no bars. I have never had a problem at the zoo and I have no experience at either Coke or the aquarium.

I agree with Foxytwo - Welcome to GeorgiaPacking.org is a great sight and if you search you can probably find threads relating other's experience at the aquarium and Coke

Not to hijack the thread, but what is the 'open carry' situation in Georgia?. I often sneak over the state line to grab lottery tickets and wondered if OC was legal or not?.

Legal is you have a Weapons Carry License (as they are called in Georgia).
