Going to Mississippi
I will be in biloxi for a while tomorrow for more Christmas stuff.
Do any of you know if the State of Mississippi has a section on their website or their state police website that has the off limit locations. I could not find one. I found the one at packing.org but would like to have something from the state site. Louisiana has a very good one, I am suprised other states do not do it as well.
I have a couple of questions for you guys in Mississippi.
I noticed that parks are off limits, are the beaches considered parks?
Also I saw that if a place sells alcohol as its primary function you can not carry there. I would assume this would not apply to a restaurant that happens to sell alcohol. Could one of you tell me what I need to do for restaurants?
Thanks

The beaches are not parks. Actual control of the sand beach in Harrison County falls under the jurisdiction of the SO. However, they don't patrol the sand (usually on atv or 4WD) during the off season. Any problems that crop up are handled by local LE.
Unless posted, the usual Ruby's, TGIF, etc. would not fall under the code. The key factor is primary sale of alcohol according to the code.
Even with the reduction in forces due to Katrina and Iraq, there are still a lot of LE on the Coast. Extremely professional, well-trained but very strict.
Enjoy the trip and thanks for coming to the Coast!

Thanks for the info.
I really like MS. I used to go to Bay St. Louis all the time. I have not been back since the storm, I hear it is still pretty bad. My family is from there and the older people don't want to go see it, they would rather remember it how it was.
Do you know if anything is going on with the Hard Rock hotel? I was looking forward to it opening. I heard it was going to be somewhat like the one in Vegas.
Thanks again.

Hard Rock opens late summer. Beau Rivage, Isle of Capri, Imperial Palace, Grand, Palace, Boomtown and Treasure Bay all open in Biloxi. Island View (formerly Grand Gulfport) and Hollywood (formerly Casino Magic Bay St. Louis) open as well as Silver Slipper in SW Hancock Co
