Smile This forum is addictive and possibly hazardous to my health

A short while ago I felt the need to protect my family. Talked with the wife (who is not a gun lover) and convinced her (barely).
I did my research and bought a great gun at a good price.
My intent was to use my PX4C for home and occasional carry, and thats what I told my wife. I did not see the need to fill a 60 gun safe with everything under the sun. Which is good since I have no budget for it all.
But, that was before I got here.
I have heard about so many guns, holsters, lights, carry styles, etc, that I find I now NEED a LCP, 1911, S&W .50, etc. I almost am starting to believe that a Glock (gasp) might be in my future. (even though the reviews I read that compared my PX4C to a similar Glock, the Glock always came in a close second).
Just because I am not a Glock lover (yet) does not mean I am anti-American.

Has anyone else found that with more learning comes more yearning? Or is it just me?

Absolutely. The more you know - the more you realize variety IS the spice of life!

My collection is still small by most standards - I have 4 guns - but it is steadily growing. I started with what I needed...now I'm working on what I want. One beauty at a time.

What I like best about this forum is that while guns are certainly discussed - any and every topic can be presented. Its not just a gun forum - its a life forum.

Ah the Beretta is better IMHO

And yes this forum and weapons are both very addictive

For Gun Safes.. I got the Cannon Tall and Wide 48 gun safe (72"x38"x24") From Tractor Supply Co. I think they just went back on sale for $999..
It is not a Ft Knox but for $1000 you absolutely cannot beat it..

The more you learn, the more you realize there is a lot you don't know.

Have you taken her shooting.. as in let her shoot? best is something like plastic water filled containers or watermelons..
after a few shots most women are highly addicted to shooting..
Known plenty that thought going with to the range was dumb and a waste of money... were not excited or wanted to back out of shooting..
But once they pull that trigger and hit/destroy something... everyone of them was.. well the monster had been let loose..

The more you learn, the more you realize what more you have to learn. Absolutely.

One of life's great truths ... and conundrums, for those of us who actually enjoy digging into a new find.

One lesson, a few years back: the realization at a typical "machine gun shoot" how fun an MG-42 was, which got me to wonderin' ...

hmm. and what about shotguns and rifles, glasshoppah? a CX4 would go nicely with that PX4...but it's a pistol caliber so you know you give that to your wife and you run the Colt 6920 right?

    followed by an 870...

and back to handguns... you mentioned 1911's, but no gun guy is worth his bisquits w/out a t least 1 wheel gun....

    Good Luck!

I have all I need, but if I had started earlier in life it might have been a different story.

I shoot EVERY week and have done so since I left the Marines 40 years ago. I learn something on here almost every day. This is one of the VERY few sites that it applies.

We have a gift certificate for a local range for fees, rental, etc. So far something else has always come up. I may have to kidnap her and call it a date
