    Campgrounds and fire arms.

I live in Minnesota and was looking at some campground brochures for places to go this summer. And some of them said "no fire arms". Can they ban guns? To me they would be landlords because they rent places to stay.

Don't know about MN, even though I lived there for 25 years, but in Virginia your camper is your house and you have a right to have a gun in your camper.

Could your tent be considered your "temporary" house as well? A semi-serious question.

Well here in TX if you have an RV the castle doctrin comes into play. Same if it was in the truck. They may not want OC but if I was able (30.06 sign here in tx) I'd CC. Not taking the risk of a buck or bear or something killing me.
Gun control isn't about guns...it's about control. It also makes criminals out of otherwise law abiding citzens.

I wouldn't go without my gun. Not just for four legged animals either. Lot's of weirdos frequent campgrounds.

If I am camping I have my weapon immediately available regardless of what signs I see saying otherwise.

Before I get called on the carpet by the Moderator I am not encouraging other folks to break the law I am just telling you what I do.

They probably just don't want target shooting in the campground. I can understand why that would be a concern. Myself, I don't go too many places unarmed, ( including Starbucks ) but mostly I keep that to myself.

We travel frequently in our small RV and I always carry. When I asked about their no guns policy at one private RV park the owner said he started after someone was seen walking their dog while carrying a rifle. He received numerous complaints from the residents and didn't want to go thru it again. Said he wasn't interested in what people had in their RV's or tents as long as it was legal and didn't cause him to loose business. Since I CC ...........

Since WI had a concealed carry law State Parks have to honor it. They prohibit open carry, though. It's probably just as well because the antis would really complain & if they had any power they'd ban all forms of carry. That's fortunate for me because I'm five minutes from an Urban State Forest. I never go there unarmed & I go there often.

Since the signs don't have the force of law in MN I wouldn't worry much about it. Have a great time.
