Good for them. I think it's a wonderful idea.

Years ago I used to drive through a small town in Mississippi on a regular basis and there had been several violent robberies of small gas stations/convenience stores. A small place I used to stop at to fill the tank and grab a cola adopted a similar policy. Never saw a man working at this place--all women--and they all wore a holstered gun in plain view. I never felt so safe going into a gas station in my life.

In the write up I saw the cops were saying they are just 3 minutes or so away. But in each of the 2 robberies by the time they arrived the suspect was gone. I'm glad to see the business owners taking it upon themselves to solve this problem.

Spokane is on the east side. Commonly called the Inland Empire. East of the Cascades it's basically a RED state. Starbucks ain't the only place to buy expensive coffee.

Having lived in Spokane twice for a number of years, I can vouch that people view guns with an entirely different attitude over there. It one of two places I OC'd with no stops, no MWAG calls, no nothing! It's the largely CA folks that moved in like a hoard of Mongols that ruined the west side.

And before anyone says otherwise: Starsbucks has not "banned" firearms!

We've heard it dozens of times. When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

Eastern Washington, Eastern Oregon, and much of Southern Oregon are far different than the I-5 freeway corridor from Eugene, Oregon through Seattle to the Canadian border. If it weren't for the Portland metro area and the two university cities of Eugene and Corvallis, Oregon would be a red state.

I love it - they can offer a shot of espresso, or a different shot to go!
