OMG! I've been going around all day w/o one in the pipe.YIKES!!!

I'm in the process of changing employment position at work and also training my replacement. I'ts been 12-13 hr days for a few weeks. I got home, had a quick dinner, said good night to the grandkids, went to my room, removed my 40 cal from my waist band, released the mag, pulled the slide back to clear the pipe before I put it away, and behold. NO ROUND IN THE CHAMBER.

I actually racked it again because I could not believe in my mind that I forgot to rack a round this morning. Holy Moly. The Gods were looking out for me today.

Might be a good argument for just leaving it chambered at night, unless you can't for some reason?

This....my autoloaders that are carries stay loaded, in the holster, in the safe when I am not wearing them. Easier that way for me.

Mine stay loaded and chambered 24/7. Go in the safe ready to use, come out ready to use. Either on my person or in the safe...no need to load and unload. The more you manipulate a weapon the more chances for something to go wrong.

Totally agree, Mine and the wifes all stay loaded and chambered.
We don't have little ones at home any more but the ones not being used are kept in a safe and the others are out of reach and out of sight in case the nieces are over.

Haven't done an FTC yet, but did walk around and ran errands all day one day not realizing that I had the safety engaged. No kids at home, EDC goes on the night stand as I carry it, it's "mate" in a modified holster is under my pillow so I have quick access no matter which side I'm sleeping.
