Wow this is huge, I wonder when WV will follow suite, I was going to get a VA non-resident permit for $100.00 but now it appears unnecessary, terrific news

Gary - many thx for that good news. I had depended till now on my FL for cover in VA - altho I have to usually cross the ''MD no-man's land" to get there.

I do hope WV can sometime sort things out too.

    Virginia Reciprocity w/ Pennsylvania

Virginia and Pennsylvania have just signed an agreement fully recognizing each other's carry permits. I copy below an Alert distributed by the Virginia Citizens Defense League, a grassroots pro-gun group. It says that 140,000 Virginians have a CHP; that's one in every fifty citizens. Pennsylvania's 575,000 permit holders represent one in every twenty one citizens.
    **************************************
"Pennsylvania and Virginia have now signed a reciprocity agreement!

Effective immediately any person with a valid Virginia concealed
carry permit can carry concealed in Pennsylvania.

Here is a link to Pennsylvania's reciprocity web page:

    http://www.attorneygeneral.gov/crime.aspx?id=184

Their reciprocity map hasn't been updated yet, but scroll down and
you will see that Virginia has been added to the reciprocal list.

Here is a link to the actual agreement:

NOTE: Virginia has NOT YET posted the equivalent document on the
Virginia State Police web site. For anyone who has a Pennsylvania
CHP and wishes to carry using that permit in Virginia, I strongly
suggest that you print out a copy of the signed reciprocity agreement
and carry it with you until the VA State Police update their web site.

The agreement has been a long time coming and this is a very
    important agreement for both states.

Pennsylvania has over 575,000 permit holders and Virginia has almost 140,000.

Thanks to EM and newsletter editor, Andrew Amarine, for the link."

Excellent! Another state where I can legally carry! Now, if we could just get the other 28 to honor a VA CHP...
