    Hooray, Utah today!

Just received my Utah non-res today, applied around Mar 19th I think. One thing I don't understand, on the letter that came with it, it says, "this permit is valid contingent on a satisfactory criminal history report being received from the FBI. You will be notified if the fingerprints are rejected, or of a revocation if the FBI criminal history report contains information of a disqualifying
    nature,"
I thought all this was taken care of before issuing the concealed firearm permit, weird.

Is this the same Utah non-res the PA AG has declared null and void for carry in PA? Great timing!

Fortunately mine is still recognized most places I routinely visit.

Indeed it is, but I have a PA LTCF so I'm good to go in PA, can use the Utah in other states, like Ohio.

I love the fact that Utah actually puts protection of young people into the state laws! Congradulations!

LE can do a 'Felon-Check' in a minute. The FBI fingerprint check is a fairly lame formality. If a few BGs get a CC Permit, how much would it really matter?
Would it allow them to 'legally' commit any crimes?
If they got the, "Man with a gun" call, when some Lefty glimpsed their holster, they'd still be run through the 'LEIN-machine' per policy.
The Gov't form letter is stating they will revoke your CC permission slip if you become a 'crininal'... and get caught.

Also, some CCWs are generated by court order, so the form letter has to cover ALL their bases. It has more to do with the 'bureaucrats' than yourself. Relax and CONGRATS !!!

Utah for years has made the extra effort to obey their own laws by getting permits out in the timeframe their law states. What they are saying is that if something comes back after the permit is mailed that would be cause for permit denial, they will revoke your permit.

Congrat's on the permit. Even if Penn want take it any longer it gives you access to other states. I've been toying with the idea of getting one myself.

I plan to get mine soon too. I just wish South Carolina was a state you got with utah. My Indiana permit doesn't cover SC either, and I go there often as I have family there.

When my wife and I got our Utah non-resident permits, the permit arrived with a letter that said our finger prints were rejected. I'm not surprised. We went to the PA State Police station not too far from our home and they took them on their machine. The prints looked great. We sent those in and never heard anything else so presumably they were accepted.

Utah does the checking they can via databases based on name, address and SS before they send the permit. The fact that we already had our PA permits was probably a help.
