How many states can you carry in?

I was surprised when I renewed my permit this past June and the deputy handed me a sheet of paper with all the states that NC has agreements with. I was shocked when they totaled 31. If Kansas is added to the list it will be 32. NC says they will honor any states permit as long as that state also honors our NC permit, sounds fair enough, so if NC stays on the Kansas list I would assume it will be added to my list. How many states does your state have agreements with?

Since WA doesnt' require a training course and demonstration of sufficient ability to use the firearm, we don't have an agreement with at least KS or IN, from what I've read so far.

I'm curious about CO, MS and NH, since those are the only three states, for now, that I would have any interest in visiting, but of course one has to pass through other states to get to these.

With Missouri's CCW I'm legal in 31 states. Unless the new Kansas AG reverses the list that was published last week.

34 states. 3 states that I wish would grant reciprocity are NE, IA, and WI. When I drive to MI I need to unload at the NE boarder, and need to stay un armed all the way to the MI state line, except for MN.

I haven't taken a tally of late but it is about 30 IIRC - and I check thoroughly if going travelling. The PA/VA deal recently is good news and my FL includes OH so - better than it was for nearby states.

But - with MD to my rather close South as a no-man's land - that is sometimes more than frustrating.

All 50! Not many restrictions including airports and aircraft. Thanks to the L.E. protection act and GWB.

I believe my Washington permit makes it 13. I've got to start looking at other states' permits as well.

    Thankfully, all 50. Thanks to H.R. 218.

Not sure what the protection act is, but I did read last week that officers of other states are not allowed to carry in NC unless they are on duty at the time. I thought this was strange. Does the protection act say something different?

I believe the protection act is the bill I stated earlier, H.R. 218. I believe it was signed by the President during the summer of '04. It allows all active & honorably retired LE to carry in all 50 states. I think it also includes certain LE reserves. Basically, LE personnel that have an endorsement on their ID's, not a CCW (That's what they're called here in California), like most reserves need.

I have heard, but not experienced, that some states supposedly won't allow a H.R. 218 qualified person to carry. I haven't heard of any legal issues, though.
