I was told the change came about when

    All the best,

A blind gentleman was able to get his concealed permit, I was following the bill through the last session and that is where the change came from I gatrhered, I think the Attorney General had something to do with it also.

Unfortunately, my Ohio Concealed Handgun License, covers Handguns only

I SUPPOSE however, I could possibly get away with some sorta pistol-grip shotgun....

Kel-Tek also had a neat little "pistol" that woulda qualified, iirc, it took M-16 mags....

In California, it is only handguns as noted before, but also varies from county to county. The county south of us only allows guns that are on the California "not unsafe gun" list, and limited to 3. We can carry any handgun, and as many as we want (if they will fit on the permit - one friend has 38, and no more room!)

In Florida I can carry anything I can conceal, switch blades, brass knuckles, pretty much anything except knives that shot stright out of the sheath via spring.

When I lived in FLA. about 14 years ago, you were allowed to carry stun guns, knives, guns mace, etc. Hopefully here in MI. the if you own it law will change soon. July I think. I also wish the green card hassle would go away.

To expand a bit on TN's permit, it's actually an HCP (handgun carry permit) no limit to the qty. or revo/auto. The phrase "concealed" was delibrately left out of the statutes so that, should your cover garment reveal your weapon, you've committed no crime (brandishing).

Knife limitations also include: Dirks, daggers, gravity knives, double edge knives, blades over 4" in length, etc.

    What does it cover?

Not Enough! Mine's VA and it only covers handguns! We need a floridian style permit here! I think it used to be that way pre-'95ish? Don't know if anyone can confirm that or not.

Yeah, it was a concealed weapons license. It changed when VA went shall-issue.
