Still waiting on Kansas CCW permit?

Just talked to the Kansas AG office and they said anyone who applied after October 31, 2006 would start receiving their letters of approval, (if approved) in the next couple of weeks.

I can't believe there are people who waited that long to apply. I submitted my paperwork in July, got my letter 28 Dec, and my permit 3 Jan.

I would guess that over 98% of Kansans have yet to apply. Most never will. I don't understand it, but most people will never carry. So, to anyone that applies before permits are available, I say WELL DONE on thinking ahead.

I submitted my application in August and got my letter on 12/31/06. I think there is a slow down in progress in the AG's office to issue permits. Morrison has not shown any interest in CCH laws in the past. Steve48

I do not think a single permit has been issued since Morrison took office.

I'm with lowflyer ... took the class and applied in August, picked up my temporary permit on 1/3 and was told it would take up to 60 days to get my actual license. It showed up in the mail on 1/12. Took all of 9 days.

According to a post at ksconcealedcarry.com last word was that the AG's office was stuffing about 1200 envelopes to be mailed ASAP.

Took care of business with the Sheriff at the end of November and got my letter today. Will have to wait until Tuesday to go to the DMV.
