    Traveling question (TN to Alabama)

I search for some info first but couldn't find any. This weekend I plan on traveling to Alabama from TN. I read through Alabama's laws but I wanted to know if there where little things I should know. Any help would be great.

    Thanks, Brent

Sorry but I'm not sure what your question is, but did you read the resources on this site?

Yeah I read through the resources. I just wanted to know the differences any carrying in Alabama than here in TN. For example, here if I get pulled over I don't have to tell the officer that I am carrying. Some state require you tell them. Also can I carry in rest areas in Alabama. Some state you can't. That is the little things I was asking about. The things that are really not listed in the state laws.

    Thanks, Brent

I moved from Alabama to Tennessee a little over a year ago.

Alabama- You do not need to tell LEO you are carrying if pulled over. Can carry in restaurants, not sure about rest areas but I think you can, check on that. Even though some will tell you open carry is technically OK in Alabama, do not open carry. You will most likely find yourself on the wrong end of a disturbing the peace charge.

Other than that, not sure what else to tell you. What part of Alabama are you going to?

    Alabama is similar to Tennesse.

You can not carry in a Court House, Airport terminal or where posted. You have to disclose if asked by a LEO.

What'cha doing in Prattville, I'm in Montgomery

My dad bought a car on ebay so we got to go pick it up. We also have some friends that live in Prattville so we are going to visit some.

    Have a good trip.

Keep an eye out for the "Go to Church or the Devil will Get You" sign and the gaint Rebel flag both on I-65 between Clanton and Prattville.

Rather its required or not, personally I will ALWAYS tell an officer I am carrying. They're sure to appreciate it rather its required or not. Ive read in KY you dont have to tell an officer, but was told in my CCW class before that I was required. It doesnt matter, I'll tell them anyway..

    Alabama Carry

Here in Bama, we can carry anywhere except bars, courthouses, and schools. Also Don't have a drink and carry. That is a big nono. You don't have to inform LEO if carring, unless asked. I have a friend who is a state trooper, He told me that as long as they can't see it it is ok.
