MO House Passes Strong Castle Doctrine

By a vote of 143-4, the MO House passed a "good" Castle Doctrine Bill on to the MO Senate yesterday http://www.house.mo.gov/bills071/bil...rf/HB0189P.HTM .

The MO Senate has two competing (and weaker) Bills which are still in Committee. Missourians need to contact the State Senator for their District http://www.senate.mo.gov/llookup/leg_lookup.aspx and tell them to pass HB 189! Also tell them that both of the Senate Bills (SB 41 and 62) are weak in that they do not contain the key language of "anywhere you have a lawful right to be" nor do they necessarily place the burden of proof back on the prosecutor where it belongs. HB 189 is superior to either Senate Bill. The MO Senate needs to hear from you!

I hope that the MO politicians will do the right thing. Ours in Arkansas chickened out.

Thanks for the update...I'm glad to hear that the house passed this by such an overwhelming margin.

Thanks for the update, I own 40 acres at Truman Lake and our area is crawling with meth heads. It's just one less thing to worry about. Kansas has an important meeting today about about CCW, so lets hope our legislators do the right thing on both sides of the state line. Mike Z

    Missouri Castle Doctrine

The House of Representatives in Missouri passed House Bill 189 to the Senate by a huge margin (143 to 4) just as another poster to this forum has stated so well. Now... All Missouri folks send an email to your State Senator urging them to get their job done. Last year, there wasn't much time allowed in the Senate to consider a similar bill and after the Senate finished with trivial BS, they ran out of time and the Castle Doctrine Bill was not passed. This year they cannot say they did not have time to do their part! Let's keep the pressure on them by checking on the status of HB 189 in the Senate (and perhaps a Joint Committee) and send more messages to them.

    Write Your Legislators...

When this came up in FL...I wrote hundreds of email as the bill moved...both 'please support...', and then 'thank you's' when it was passed...

A few emails now may save you lots of $$$ later...

I just emailed my Senator. Lets hope this passes.

Several MO folks but I didn't see anyone from the Kansas City area. Am I alone in this sea of criminals?

Thanks for the heads up. I am sure all of us will contact our State Senators.
