    Woo Hoo! Application Approved!!

That's me tooting my own horn. A bunch of us who hang out at the range together (mostly family: me, father, brother-in-law, uncle) and a few other folks all got together last month to take the classes for the OH CC licenses. Just took a message off the VM: "This is the Sheriff's office. Your application has been approved. Please come by next Tuesday at 10:00 AM and we'll hook ya up." I'm the first of the bunch to actually get the licence. Funny. Nobody else has even turned in the paperwork yet.

That was fast! OH state law allows up to 45 days for the Sheriff to process the application. Mine came back in less than 2 weeks. Who ever heard of a government office taking less time than they had to? I'm like the next guy - always complaining about the slow beaurocratic mess of most govt agencies/depts -- but I gotta give 'em the thumbs up on this one: Good job guys! You've changed my perception of the typical govt. employee.

FYI -- Brown County OH Sheriff's office. Way to go guys. I'm buyin' you a beer!

    Can't wait 'til Tues!

When the messenger arrives and says 'Don't shoot the messenger,' it's a good idea to be prepared to shoot the messenger, just in case.

Just a side note, Brown County S.O. is probably the most over worked and understaffed Sheriffs office in the state. If they can do it, so can all the others.

Congrats on the family that carries together, shoots together and stays together.

Now you need mom, sister, mother-in-law and sister-in-law to get there permit and then you will have a crew!

Congrats, Ada County Sheriff in Boise, ID took less than two weeks to issue. The application said it could take up to 90 days.

I called 2 weeks ago to check on the status of my application. I was told that everything had come back and that it was sitting on a supervisors desk. Guess it is still there. Was told it can take up to 90 days in NC and I think they want it to.
