Carry at sporting events where alcohol is sold in TN?

I'm confused, I read the TN code links at Handgunlaw.us and I'm still unsure about something.
Can I carry at a sporting event even if they have alcohol vendors on site?

I was under the impression that you can't carry in any municipal owned building or facility, including coliseums, stadiums, civic centers.

I would be surprised if you could carry. We cannot in UT at sporting events.

If I can be more specific, the event is Roller Derby and the venue is the Nashville Fairgrounds Sports Arena.

They sell the weird, gassy, watered down swill that passes for beer here in the USA.

I'm pretty certain that the Fairgrounds is municipal property, and, as such, you will not be able to carry there legally (whether they sell alcoholic beverages or not).

    I figured as much, thanks.
I was hoping I could because as you will know if you have ever been there the Fairgrounds is in an 'interesting' part of town and attracts 'interesting' people. The walk from the car to the hall and back is a long one in the dark.

Just because the area is full of hookers, drug addicts and thugs you seem to think it's a bad part of town?

Agree though, carrying on Municipal property is prohibited. My wife and I just went to a Kats game at the Arena last Thursday and I had to leave my .38 in the car - sucks but that's how it is.

because it's TN i would be careful. when i was there, i had a TN police officer tell me personally that he can legally walk into a bar and arrest you for being intoxicated. true or false? ...i don't want to find out with someone in that mind set.

    Same here in NC...

"...anywhere where an admission is charged..."

" Large gatherings, IE: Funerals, Picket Lines, paid events..."

"...anywhere where alcohol is both purchased and consumed..."
