Ohio is the only state that is really weird, (sorry all you good folks from Ohio), on carry in a car that I know of. Check their's carefully if you are passing through. I bought a cheap holster for cross draw that I could wear while in the car. If I remember correctly it has to be holstered, on your person, in plain view whatever that means, while in the car. Then when you exit the car it has to be concealed immediately. I felt a little strange pulling up to toll booths when my wife was driving but if that is what they want so-be-it.

i'm 99% sure that ohio passed an amendment that changed that stupid in-car carry rule... goes into effect March 20-something. (state legislature passed the rule, governor veto'd, veto'd overturn so goes into effect after 90 days.)
do a search on it, i think i've seen a few threads about this.

Car carry in Ohio
Ohio just passed HB-347/S-252 that eliminates the "plain view" requirement while carrying in vehicles. This law takes effect 3/14/20-07. You can find information concerning how the new law affects concealed carry in Ohio in lot's of different places. Here's two:

Research links provided plus NRA , make yourself a list by state of pertinent differences from your home state ie:
no carry areas, notify LEO or not, etc.
