Thumbs up New USCCA web site

FYI, the USCCA has just opened a new web site. The address is http://www.usconcealedcarry.com/. I think Tim, Maria and everyone else who had a hand in setting it up did an outstanding job. Congratulations!!

    Price Increase

I was planning on joining USCCA, but according to the new website, the cost has jumped from $40 to 69 per year. Abit more than I can let go, being retired and fixed income. Am I wrong, or did I just imagine the increase?

I'm pretty disappointed about the price increase. To be honest, I'm not sure it's worth it. I'm paid up thru January 07, as it stands now, I probably won't renew.

    Just my $.02 worth.

It was my understanding that this price increase was due the surveys that they took and the fact that members will have access to the new web site that will have lots of good stuff on it for members only.

I joined at the beginning of the year when it was $40. I thought that price was pushing it.

Well, glad I wasnt "seeing things" when I saw that price increase. Dunno, think Tim might rethink things, as I dont care what you can find on their website, that we cant find here, for the mostpart. It sure isnt worth an extra 30 bucks to me, so I will pass.

wow. a 29 dollar jump. I love the magazine but $69/year for 10 issues? That is a touch steep, and the website hasn't showed that much content increase. I tried to log on and was unable a few days ago? any one else having trouble?

I haven't been able to log on either. An e-mail inquiry said that the current member database should be imported to the web site by July 1st.

    Wait and see, I guess.

I wonder if it will be possible to continue the magazine subscription without being a member of USCCA for a lesser financial comittment.

I have been a member for several months now and love the magazine, but I don't think that I'll renew.

$40 was a bit steep, but seemed worth it. A 73% price increase is ridiculous. It sounds like they need to figure out how to cut some costs. More advertising and a lower quality paper are two things that come to mind. I'm not willing to pay $6.90 per magazine (effectively what I'm getting for my membership).

I'm afraid that this will drastically reduce the membership of the organization.

I think that is a good question. I have subscribed for a year and a half or so. I love the magazine, but I am not willing to pay $69 for membership.
So... will the magazine be a stand alone option?

I have been debating joining. Everyone here really likes the magazine. I thought $40 was too much, thats why I never joined. Now that its $69, I just cant drop that kind of change on a magazine.
