    Unhappy no magazine

I joined the USCCA and received the membership card, sticker and a nice letter, but still no magazine. I am starting to wonder if my 40.00 could have been better spent. The articles on the website were good, and convinced me to join, but still no magazine. I have heard people on here state they have receive there magazine, so I am waiting, impatiently.

Snow - use that # on the membership card and call to speak to Maria and check it out - if it has been a very long time then I am sure she will see things right.

There's a very liberal, left-wing book store in Ann Arbor, I'm thinking about going in there and asking if they carry your magazine.

I know it's not sold at book stores and such, but I'd just like to see their faces turn red when I ask.

Question Count me IN, but why. . .

Count me IN, but why so few who post on Combatcarry.com are among the ranks of USCCA?

Seems to me that people on the Forum should really get onboard with both the organization and the Concealed Carry Magazine.

Looks to me like they kind of go hand-in-hand with the Forum.

    Am I missing something here?

Somewhere in my above post, I probably should have mentioned that I did, indeed join the USCCA. (oops!)

I sub the mag Mike and joined USCCA - a while ago.

I am hoping that maybe quite a few folks have joined but just not posted about it. I'd quite like to hear from Tim sometime as to how membership is going - tho I am sure initially it will have been slow.

I used to be just a magazine subscriber for the last year but joined just a few weeks ago (got my card in the mail Saturday) when I renewed.

I have never really been all that clear as to what it means to be a "USCCA member" beyond the magazine, besides to just say that I support concealed carry.. even the "19 benefits" on the website of being a USCCA member are all directly related to the content of the magazine.

But in any case, I'm a member, at least for a couple of years, though at that time I will re-evaluate what the point really is besides getting the magazine (which is great).

I agree. Besides CCM, one of the "benefits" of membership is supposed to be a quarterly newsletter. I've been a member for over a year and haven't received one yet.

I think one aspect of this is, that Tim is so tied up and busy with the mag' that USCCA is somewhat on back burner.

That said tho - I reckon the intention is over time to build a membership of that such that we can become a body of some significance - maybe another voice in the fight folks have in MD for example.

Not sure re newsletter - had not remembered that. I reckon it will still need some time.

This is mentioned in their magazine ads, like the ad in the January 06 issue of the NRA's Shooting Illustrated.

They call it a "Members Only" Quarterly Report.

Not knowning the actual numbers of members/subcribers, I could be wrong about my perception of the percentage of Forum members being part of the organization, I suppose. I based that on a poll taken in this section of the Forum.

If it is the case that the USCCA is not large enough to work effectively towards their stated goals, then rather that simply say "I won't join because they really aren't doing anything," we should actively work to increase our numbers so that it can fullfilll it's goals.

In addition to talking with our friends locally, a mention of the organization could be made where ever it would be appropriate to do so, in our on-line conversations in this Forum and others.

I've seldom considered passive membership in any organization that I've joined was enough. If I was interested enough to join, then I've always tried to be an active member. Otherwise, why bother?

I'm a member too. I just assumed, I know bad word, that almost everybody here was too.

I got downsized from my former job, was lucky enough to find another, but at a drastically reduced income. I simply cannot afford to join all of the different groups. I've been an NRA/GOA member for awhile, and that's about all I can swing now, hence the reason I have not joined.

I understand your pain. I quit a job because of ethics and have been having the same problem for 6 years now.

    IndianaDean,

That I can certainly understand! Although its been a while, I've been there, myself.

Do whatever you can, whenever you can.

    Hope your lot improves!
