Utah seems to be running over 70 days at this point. Don't know about Colorado.

My Utah took 7 weeks and 5 days. My CO took over 120 days. Denver doesn't feel the need to pay any attention to state law :(

Colorado permit return times really depend on the county you go through. Less liberal county=Less wait time.

El Paso County, CO as of a couple of years ago was less than two weeks. Just depends on the volume of apps.

Took 90 days in Arapahoe County due to the number of applicants last May.

Here are a couple of interesting points concerning Utah permits.

    1. The Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI - Utahís issuing authority) has been swamped because of the high number of out of state permits it has had to process lately. Over 50% of recent applications are coming from out of state, and their staff has not been increased to handle the increased load.

    2. By statute, BCI has to complete background checks and other red tape within 60 days. If it hasnít completed all the red tape, itís required by law to issue the permit anyway. However, BCI may revoke your permit, if your background check comes back with information that would have made you ineligible for the permit.

90 days at Jefferson County Colorado. COLO law says they have 90 days to decide. They had to give me mine even though they didnt have the FBI report. How ever I had to sign a form that they could take it back. Upon a negitive FBI report.
