Change can be good sometimes.
Today I had the opportunity to talk to an old friend who I have not run into for a while. My friend has always been very anti-gun and I asked her what she thought about the 5th district court ruling. I was shocked when she replied that she liked it.
Apperently she has been dating a man who himself owns firearms and she has come to find out that they wont just start shooting people on their own. She went on to say that he was planning on taking her out to teach her shoot and that she is looking forward to it and would like to get a gun. As we were talking she said, "You know I would like to get a concealed carry permit too." (Because the University she attends has had multiple rapes on campus and other violent crimes recently.) At which point I let her in on me having one. We talked about it for a good while and I pointed her toward Cornered Cat, Combat Carry and let her know if she has any questions that she is more than welcome to ask me. I also gave her some questions she needs to ask herself before she decides on purchasing or carrying a gun.
It was a great conversation and I think that the winds may have changed in her about guns. I see a going bye, bye.

Liberty is an inherently offensive lifestyle. Living in a free society guarantees that each one of us will see our most cherished principles and beliefs questioned and in some cases mocked. It's worth it.

It's so gratifying when they see the light. Sometimes you wonder how long it will take others to realize that guns donít have brains and walk around causing crime.

Good news! Here's hoping that many others also become members of "the formerly anti-gun" crowd.

I too just love it when logic over-takes emotional inaccuracies.
So many folks could go the same way - if they had some guidance and managed that one essential - an open mind!!!

Very cool. If only we could convince some officials that guns don't cause crime as well!
One more for our side though.. that's great!

Very good news. Very good.
Good for her. Another sheep bites the dust and transforms into an emerging sheep dog.

Good luck with that. Weapons are prohibited on every campus I've ever been on.

I think many on the fence self~proclaimed "anti~gunners" harbor a secret hidden Fascination for firearms. Just something I've noticed over the years.

It's amazing how getting personally screwed can open one's eyes. It's a great motivator. At least she's taking this step before she herself is a victim or dead. That is liberty. And that is the lesson. May all sheep eventually come 'round to seeing with both eyes wide open.
As we were talking she said, "You know I would like to get a concealed carry permit too." (Because the University she attends has had multiple rapes on campus and other violent crimes recently.)
