Dropping the mag out of my PT-111
I have found, over the last few months of range work, that when going quickly for my PT-111 my thumb seems to rest on the magazine release button. This is of course bad as I am sometimes shooting and compress the button just enough so that the next round does not feed. I have modified my grip, but still in the heat of the moment that is just where my thumb rests. Is there anything I can do to stiffen the mag release or am I left with the other two options (continue to modify my grip or sell the firearm)?

have you tried moving the mag release to the opposite side of the grip this would require a little retraining put may be worth a look? let us know how it works out for you i just bought one of these fine little pistols but have yet to get to take her for an outing. good luck

I had the same problem with Glocks slide release, I just retrained my hands. Heres how I did it; At the range, I put a piece of scotch tape over both the slide stop and mag release. That way it would feel weird resting my fingers on those surface and my hand found a better position. After a few range outings, problem solved.

I had to change my grip on mine so the magazine would not drop out. Steve48

Or add a drop of hot glue from a craft hot glue gun right before the mag release.

On the P-11 I used to have I filed the mag release a little more flush with the grip. That way it took a bit more deliberate effort to release it.
I like my solvent and my lubricant for my guns to rhyme, so I use Gasoline and Vasoline.
