    How often does everyone shoot?

Have a pistol, a CPL license, a holster...and no ammo yet. Been pricing rounds and figure if I can afford to shoot once a month I would be fortunate. More likely it will be 200-300 rounds a quarter! Got me thinking how often everyone can shoot (time/money).

Ammo isn't cheap but compared to bowling or going to a movie, it isn't very expensive either. Buy a .22 and shoot a lot for a little. Even 45ACP is a good value by the fun/dollar standard.

The movies cost about $8.00 for an adult ticket.
I use to eat out about 5 times a week with my co-workers during lunch...spent about $7.00 each time (w/ tip). Cut back to 2 time a week. Now I have more money for gas and bullets.
Just cut back on stuff you don't really need, like random snacks and porn (I like spanky).

A box of Blazer or Wolf FMJ in 50rd cost about $9.50.
I shoot about 150rd every 2 weeks. Gotta find a good place to shot the SKS so I can get up to 400rd a session

+1 for .22lr, I burn through a brick of .22 a month on average, which costs a whole $10, keeps you practiced on all the fundamentals. Then I just empty my carry mags/cylinders every couple months to keep the ammo fresh and familiarized with my carry pieces.

I try to shoot once a week or so...if I miss a week here and there it just means more shooting the next time

I average about 1 range trip per month during winter. Usually about 100 rounds per trip. Spring and summer, about double that.

I think that's why some learn to reload. It makes shooting often, less expensive. Personally, I try to shoot once a week, but my Dept. foots the bill, so it's different for me.

If I had to pay for it, I'd probably shoot once a month or every other, I guess.

I bought a ruger mk III so I could shoot more often. (usually 2-3 times a month) Two, three hundred rounds thru the .22 is a whole lot cheaper. Then I try to shoot a box thru the 9mm or the .45, which ever I happen to be carrying, so they don't feel left out.

I shoot a couple times per month. What is sad is about 10 years ago I got into reloading as a hobby and I probably have between 10-12 thousand rounds loaded up in the basement in various calibers. Plus the fact that I can shoot in my own backyard, makes twice a month pretty sad. I use to think if I lived on a piece of land where I could shoot I would be shooting daily, but life gets busy and things take it's place. My son is now 15 and loves to shoot so I am trying to do it more often, good father/son time.

I practice live fire drills at least once a week.....
Dry fire and holster drills every other day, even if its only 5 minutes a pop...

Monthly on average. I switch up the guns I shoot also because variety is the spice of life.
