+1 for the KJ, I wanted a real 4wd for the wife and she didn't want the hard ride. A very good compromise.

Yet another Jeeper here 95 YJ.... It seems to me most Jeep owners are gun people. Everytime I go to the local gun shop there are 4-5 jeeps out front....

Congrats, looks like a sweet ride. I hope you enjoy it. And always keep your situational awareness up for the clueless cagers. If you haven't done so, Newenough has some great deals on riding gear.

Why did it take so long for Jeep to reintroduce a 5 door model?? Landrover has been making 5 doors on the 107",109" and 110" models since 1951. One of their best selling models and highly useful, I had the 109 5 door, great truck. the new Jeep 5 doors are decent looking but I just can't help chuckling over the lost sales over the last few decades.

I need more information before I go attributing this incident to "responsible carry."

Was this a case of "legal open carry"? I mean, the gun's butt was exposed and visible. I have to assume that this was open carry, and that it was done because it was legal.

So do you have to have a license to carry a gun?"

I go into the various state and local laws without getting too legal on him.
I don't understand the part about informing the salesman about the various state and local laws, in response to the question about having a license to carry. Was that a way of saying that you don't need a license to carry openly there? It seems evasive in a way.

I don't mean to seem hypercritical, but I'm not so sure about the notion of going peeking around a car sales lot with a gun sticking out of a waistband, dressed in jeans and a plain white t-shirt. It's great that the conversation turned out how it did, but nonetheless, I would have concealed.

I'd like to know more of the details about this situation, if that's okay.

I just bought a used 2005 Wrangler Unlimited, and I was carrying at the time that I bought it. When we went into the dealership to sign the paperwork, I noticed they had a sign stating that even legally concealed handguns were prohibited. Well, unfortunately their sign did not comply with Texas law, so I just kept quiet. I wonder if they would have cancelled the sale if they found out I was carrying? Legally, they can ask anyone to vacate the premises, and I would have complied if asked (I won't break the law, but I also don't follow incorrect signs). I just wonder if their objections to legally carried firearms are greater than their desire to take my money!

    Cheers! M2

Heck I wore mine in the open when I test drove a Victory in Prescott.
