Indiana Information
Hey Guys,
How is everyone doing? It's been a long time since I had enough time to jump on the site and see what was up, but I definately haven't forgotten to stop by and read, when I'm able.
I was wondering if there is anyone who can shoot me a PM or an email about CCW, and gun rights in general, in the state of Indiana, I'm attempting to determine if I should move from my current home in NJ when my parents leave in about 6 weeks.
Any help that anyone can send me would be much appreciate, because at this point, I'm drawn al over the place.
Thanks,
--Jim

Also check out http://www.handgunlaw.us
That site has just about everything you could need to know on it for each state.
I was born and raised in Indiana and I also would like to go back. It is a very gun friendly state. Lifetime carry permits, open carry legal, very few places off limits. Just about the best all around gun state there is I think.
And it is a very pretty a friendly state.

Thank God for Indiana's gun laws the only thing that could hurt IN's gun laws is that darn new House Bill 1022 the Dems have put into play. I have been born and raised in southern indiana and I love the States gun laws infact thats about the only thing keeping me here. We may be second in the nation for jobs lost in febuary, But for now we still have our kick ***** gun laws

I also live in the worst gun state! Just curious I heard that it was illegal to carry in Gary, IN.
Is that true?

Not too sure about not carrying in Gary I do know there are a few Small "Hoity Toity my 5 million dollar house is better than your 5 million dollar house" "Private Communities" as they call them that have local ordinances that say if your caught with a firearm concealed than you will be prosecuted, I look at it like this I paid my $$$ for my lifetime permit and well if its in my truck its concealed and its all legal so try to prosecute me.
I did question an Officer about the policy and he rolled his eyes and said yeah F-ing Rich People.....and continued to elaborate that when the Bicycle patrol goes through there they get a death stare from people because their sidearm is exposed and in plain vision.
My advise to that was well the heck with them tell them to hire their own private security company and see how safe they feel being protected with Mace and a Flashlight.Cant remember were it was though it was up north past Indy I was headed to Mich. and had gotten lost Thanks to Mapquest and their Shortcut

If you are an IN resident & have an IN license to carry you can carry anywhere in IN (city/county wise). You still have a myiad of "off limits" places (any school, daycare, school event, or anywhere that "benefits a child"). If you are NOT an IN resident, you can carry on a licence to carry from anywhere in the world! (same "off limits" places). There are definitely worse places (and a few better) you could live!

Toothless preemption, but still preemption.
