The public hearing for LB 454, the Concealed handgun permit act, is this thursday, March 17th.

Even if you can't physically make it to the public hearing--Mailing/faxing/emailing a piece of written testimony to the committee is the single best thing you can do right now.

Although the Nebraska Unicameral public hearing is past, (please visit ccwne.com for a brief report) we STILL HAVE UNTIL MONDAY to get written testimony into the public record. Please take advantage of this, as it is one of the BEST THINGS you can do to support this bill.

The best way would be to get it there in paper form, but the deadline is looming. I would suggest emailing/faxing it.

There is no required format, so I just used a memo format.

"Date: March 17, 2005
"Re: Written Testimony in favor of supporting LB454"

Just state your name and address. Tell them who you are (especially victims, women, police, fire, rescue, doctors, attorneys, nurses, law students, average person, military, etc.) give a little background if you like, and say that you support LB454 & would request that the unicameral support this bill.

You must indicate that you wish for your letter to be filed as public record for written testimony in support of LB454.

You can call Senator Bourne's office to follow up to make sure they rec'd your email & that they will file it for public record as written testimony in support of the bill. (402) 471-2722
