Wally World at Last!, but this ain't gonna do...

Got my ticket yesterday. Oakland County, MI took only 15 business days. I know it seems irrational, but I actually checked the mail for it the day after I applied.

Carried yesterday to a friend house, noticed quickly that uncle mikes cheapo isn't gonna cut it. The clip doesn't hold grab the belt, and having such a short barrel, my rippling midsectional "muscles" easily push the butt end of the gun over and away from me. Spent the morning removing the plastic clip and re-sewing it on as high as I could. Then I put a couple short wood screws through the very bottom of the clip, these help it grab my belt instead of riding up.

This makes it much better, but still barely acceptable. Can't wait to get my crossbreed I ordered 2 wks ago.

I never go to wal mart, my union stewart would have a fit, but tradition is tradition. Had to pass a Kmart and 2 meijers to find one. Noticed nobody noticing me. I guess that's the point, huh?

Usually, people are hollering for pictures on holster threads...somehow, I don't think that's going to be the case here...

    Congrats on your permit!...

Congrats on the trip, honoring ancient traditions and all that!

    WOOD SCREWS!!!!

Ok I have to ask for pictures. Sorry to those who don't want to see them, just avert your eyes LOL.

    Congrats on the permit.
I will support gun control when you can guarantee all guns are removed from this planet. That includes military and law enforcement. When you can accomplish that, then I will be the last person to lay down my gun. Then I will carry the weapon that replaces the gun.

Okay, laugh at me....I'm a newbie.

I just picked up my CCW permit, ID, yesterday, and by chance, I carried for the first time today at the local Wally's world, under my jacket, while shopping with my six year old daughter, for her Easter gift. felt kinda strange on one hand, yet satisfying on the other, after 12 hrs of classes, $55.00 in fees and numerous trips to the local Sheriffs Dept. Just from the few posts I have read, I guess this is an initiation of some sort?

WOW, Meijers. That's a balstI from the past, I forgot those places existed...

I can't remember the last time I saw a Meijers or a Krogers.

...Getting back on topic, gald to hear you got your permit in a resonable amount of time, and glad to hear you've got a quality holster on order.

Thus the reason for going to a crowded place (WalMart) on your first day of carrying...

    Welcome aboard, rmthunder!...

    Congrats.

I am a satisfied Crossbreed customer, and I can't wait for you to get yours either. I thought my Uncle Mike's I started out with was bad, but I didn't have to use any wood screws on it. The Crossbreed should be much, much better for you.

Many gunshops carry perfectly acceptable holsters by Galco, DeSantis and other makers.
