How many always carry an extra mag?
I realize that it is statistically most likely that I'll never have to pull the trigger in anger, so I doubt I'll be carrying an extra mag unless I'm going somewhere I feel is particularly high risk. Carrying 2mags, a flashlight, and OC seems to be overkill. But that's just my assessment of the risks that I am most likely to face. After all, most people (sheeple) think that packing at all is overkill. What do you carry normally and why?

A picture is worth a thousand words:

I also have a small can of OC in the cupholder tray of my truck. Sometimes I take it with me, but mostly it is there to deal with ragers and such with a non-lethal option to give them time to reflect on the mistake they will make if they continue to push the issue.

No I don't, and I wish I did. It needs to be part of my EDC but hasn't formed as a habit yet.
If I'm wearing my J Frame I carry a speedstrip for 10 rounds total, if I'm carrying my Taurus 24/7 .40 or XD9 SC I feel ok with 15/16 rounds in the gun alone. But between those two I sometimes carry my Sig P232 with 7+1 rounds of .380. That is when I feel the need most for an extra mag. I have a UBG mag holster for it but haven't started wearing it yet.
Hopefully this thread has broken that habit.
Funnily enough with my KelTec P32 I feel fine with just 7 rounds, maybe because I would only use it if someone was really on top of me and as such wouldn't be able to reload anyway.
YMMV.

2 mags, light, knife & multitool.

Glock 23 in a Galco Fletch holster, a G22 mag and a SureFire G2 in a Galco "MFP" combo pouch. As well as another SureFire - the E2e - clipped in my left front pocket and a Gerber E-Z-Out clipped inside my right front pocket.
And I am VERY disappointed with the poll results! What? You guys can't find room for a spare mag and a flashlight? I promise you...you will use a flashlight a ******* lot more than your weapon!

Forgot to say what I carry...
Gun or two.
Knife in front pocket, back up (Boker Subcom) elsewhere.
If at work, multi-tool on weak side.
No flashlight, no lasers, no ninja stars.
Might get a good flashlight though, I know it's stupid not to.

Always have at least one extra magazine and my Coast Cutlery Tach Torch flashlight.
Always. And, if we are going to be someplace that is a bit dicey and I know a head of time, then it's 2 extra mags.
My EDC load out is as follows:
Glock 23 in a Blackhawk! SERPA right side belt holster.
At least one extra magazine
Flashlight
Folding Knife
Cell phone

I carry two extra mags and a Surefire 6P. I also have a Kershaw Mini-Cyclone and a Leatherman Wave. I'm trying to get in the habit of carrying OC, but I don't really have a good place for it, so it only gets carried irregularly.

Spare mag always.
Easily replaceable part most prone to failure. Plus you get extra ammo in it.

I doubt I will ever need more then one bullet but I think two mags is best because you really never know what could happen. Also, if the **** hit the fan stress and high tention kick in. Some may miss under pressure and stress so I say two mags no questions.

I carry my flashlight on my belt, extra mag in my pocket, since I use the flashlight a hell of a lot more on a day-to-day basis. Eventually I'll get a combo mag/flashlight holder, but am holding off until I find a light that I really like.

Springfield Armory XD-40 4" (12+1 Hornady TAP 155gr) in an old Viking model 12 lefty holster
12 round mag
Brinkmann 2x123A flashlight in an old Leatherman Wave case (hey, it fits, and was free)
Inexpensive but sturdy Gerber knife (still trying to find the "right" assisted opener for me)
Bluetooth headset (phone used to take picture, sorry)

I carry a Taurus PT1911 IWB with an extra mag. (thanks UBG) I carry the mag in case of a malfunction, not because I think I need the extra ammo.
