    Carry on casino cruise (FL)?

So I got invited to go on an evening casino cruise on one of these small ships out of Port Canaveral this weekend. Does anyone know if Sterling Casino (or any of these gambling boats) allow CCW?
<I'm at work and their website is blocked unfortunately or I'd look it over myself>

I'm kind of dubious about carrying on an evening cruise, but I'm ok with not drinking and I don't gamble, it's really just to go out with some friends. I *would* like to carry if possible, just because we'll be coming back late at night and if nothing else going through a parking lot with some people around who'll be carrying lots of cash does cause me some concern.

If anyone's been on one of these and can relate their experience, I'd appreciate hearing it. I've been on "real" cruises before and of course that's like going on an airliner with metal detectors and the works. Don't know about these boats that go a few miles out so people can gamble.

I looked up the website for you. No information. I would imagine the same rules apply for this ship as any other form of public transportation. Corprate office # is 321-783-2212 Terminal and Reservations is 1-800-ROLL-711. I will let you ask the questions. Check to see if they have a secured parking area with armed security to feel them out. Good luck

If it's anything like ones I've been on - you can't even carry a leatherman (multitool) on board. A walking cane is okay.

Wouldn't a casino be considered "a place of nuisance" and be a no-go for carry? (I think that is the terminology used in the regs)

Yeah, probably so. thanks for reminding me about that, I'd forgotten. I guess I'll have to take my chances and not carry.

Thanks very much for the numbers. I know one should call to clarify, and I will call them, but calling them is actually against my better judgement. In the past I've gotten some really flaky and wrong answers from businesses when the subject of CCW comes up especially if you talk to a front office person. I've found it generally better to stay totally covert about things, which is a good CCW rule anyway, or to not carry.

What is a "place of nuisance"?

OK is this what you are talking about??

Florida Statute 823.05 defines a place of nuisance as a "place which tends to annoy the community or injure the health of the community...or any house or place of prostitution, assignation, lewdness or place or building where games of chance are engaged in violation of law or any place where any law of the state is violated."

Because your legal games of chance do not fall under place of nuisance!

If it is not in the US Constitution then the Federal Government should not be doing it.

No carry in Crusieships of any kind. Also, don't get close to any port with a gun. They are verbotten. Sterile areas IIRC.

I'm not from Florida but my dad lives there. I have looked into these casino cruises and you cannot carry on them.

    Quite right.

Went out on the gambling boat last night and it's like going to the airport, x-rays and metal detectors etc. At least getting off the boat at 1am there was a decent crowd around in the well-lit parking lot, so I never felt unsafe while not being able to carry.

    Casino Boat

I went on a casino cruise out of Ponce Inlet in Volusia County. Much smaller boat, but same deal. They wanded passengers and searched bags. Reasonably good search, not airport, but not bad for amatures.
