Has anyone else noticed that in the wake of this shooting that there seems to be a lot more people calling for carry on campuses around the country? The antis seem to be partly being shouted down by the collective common sense out there that has realized that had one or two of the students been armed, this incident may have ended with much less loss of life.

Turns out I watched a different Paula Zahn show it was not concealedcampus.com's representative, but whoever he was, he was great. The concealedcampus.com's show will be on Monday the 23rd show make sure you watch it.

Why don't they just carry anyway,it's better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6.

    That's a cool idea!

I wonder, though, if they set the computers up to not allow users to do that. (It's amazing the restrictions that they can put on computers these days.)

Go to an airport that offers free wireless connection. The first thing that comes up is not your homepage, but the airport authority's page warning you about whatever. It's scary. If they can commandeer your browser like that, what else can they do?!

Technically, they aren't commandeering your browser. The whole service typically goes through a proxy server that can be set to re-direct all traffic to their sign in/warning page, until after you click "I agree" (or give them your credit card number if its not free). At which point, the traffic is routed through their proxy (and presumably, their content filters as well) to the 'normal' internet.

I know for a fact that it is no problem to change the home page on the university's computers where I work. Of course, I would never do this where I work , because I might be disciplined. The students change the homepages frequently though.

In Indiana it is legal to carry on campuses, but it'll get you expelled if the wrong person finds out.

Getting expelled 3 of 4 years into a degree would be ultra-lame.

If it was my entire life and my job or something, i'd carry when against the rules because its going to be my entire life, but for 4 hours a day for one more year i'll sadly follow the rules.

its better to take the 1 in 100 million chance than to waste my parents $60,000.

-I have a meeting with the dean of students this week though

In Arkansas it will cost you your CHL if you get caught at a college/university...it's a misdemeanor, IIRC, but since it's firearms related you lose the permit. If you get caught on a k-12 campus it's a felony...with mandatory jail time.

Right now, most of us have the moral high ground because we are law-abiding citizens. IF we choose to sacrifice the "law-abiding" part...IMHO...we lose. (There may be extreme circumstances that would cause me to change my tune...but they would have to be very extreme.)

    Excellent!!!
    ++++1

I am on campus right now while my .40 is sitting in the car. I don't understand why the anti's think that a college campus is safer than anywhere else. If all the others before hand have not shown it's not, then maybe the VT shooting still fresh in all our minds will. The fact of the matter is......we have all undergone extensive training and background checks that prove we are LAW OBIDING citizens in order to carry. Therefore, we will not carry in places deemed "off-limits" for the most part. It really bothers me.

On side note, the day after the VT shooting my father was at his physical therapy appt, and of course everyone was talking about it. One of the therapists asked him if he was frightened having a son in college thinking that something like that could happen at any time. My father's reply was...."No, not really. He would probably be shooting back!" After he said that, he remembered our ccw class and that it was not legal to carry on a collge campus. He then called me to make sure I wasn't packing while in class!

I am thinking of getting a j-frame to fit in my pocket so that I could possibly carry at all times.

As a college student myself, I'm thrilled that such a group exists.
