Very, very cool.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.
But sadly, the anti-gunners still won't get it.
They'll argue the contrary, right in the face of the facts.
They're baffling in the way they live in un-reality.
Thats awesome! We need more towns like that, to set an example, that an armed society is in fact a polite society.
That's great news!!
EOD - Initial success or total failure
I did part of a presentation on this town for a government class. Those numbers are right, but the story itself is not. From what I recall, there have been a few self-defense shootings. One which was nearly ruled murder...
I'll see if I can dig up where I found that info.
Their crime rate is still, no BS, below its 1981 levels.
Good article....I'm sure Alaska and Vermont stats are equally low.

So - sanity still exists in some places it seems
It'd almost be interesting to see anti's refute that for logic - tho I am sure they could find a way.

Has anyone ever heard some one from the Brady Campaign asked why it is that Kennesaw's crime rate dropped and Morton Grove's crime rate went up?
If it is not in the US Constitution then the Federal Government should not be doing it.
"Carrying a gun is a social responsibility."
Great story. Too bad this won't be on national news every night for a week or so. I used to live in the Atlanta area. Lots of gun lovin folks there.

Goes to show that gun ownership is a complex thing. What causes those figures? Who's to say? Like as not, sheer civility and common horse sense works its magic in Vermont, while lack of REM sleep in Alaska is the pixie dust of choice. Go figure.
Let's see...population increases significantly in Kennesaw and crime rate goes down--population decreases in Morton Grove and crime rate increases.
I wonder if the Chamber of Commerce in Morton Grove has had this correlation made very clear to them? I would think that the local business leaders who contribute money to local politicians' campaigns would re-assess their support of certain individuals if they understood that their support of those individuals was driving their customer base away and increasing their taxes to pay for additional law enforcement. If money is the mother's milk of politics, cut off the money...and the anti-gun politicians go down to defeat?
Awesome! I encourage everyone to forward that to as many people as they possibly can. We need to get the word out on things like this.
