CC .45ACP suggestions?

This is a discussion on CC .45ACP suggestions? within the Concealed Carry Issues & Discussions forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; Sixto...Peter? 0.02...Siddhartha? Just kidding. My budget is $500-$750. I imagine this would disqualify me from any "divine" weapons....

Gaston's guns occupy the lower confines of that budget.
If you have $750 then consider a 1911.

Well ,yeah, you can say that!
Gaston Glock is the mans name, he makes a divine pistol that could be had for about $550.
You can get into a Springfield Champion size 1911 in your price range, as well as a Kimber. Both are good choices in a 1911.

Just a suggestion. I know some people will not agree.

You may want to look into a Taurus PT145 Mil Pro (3rd generation). Although I carry a Kimber 4" 1911 right now. I just bought a PT145 and I will be carrying it once I have it broke in (where I feel comfortable.) It has 10+1 capacity, smaller than most 1911s, and, in my opinion, feels much better than a Glock. I have only placed 200 rounds through it but I had no problems with it at all.
Things happen, but the only thing that matters at the end of the day is what you do during and after in order to survive.

If you like the XD, stick with what works and get an XD-45 Compact. It's well within your price range and a great gun. Other than that, my vote is 1911 but I'm biased.

I like 1911's but you don't seem to be the "cocked and locked", "one in the chamber and safety on" type.

Opinions seem to vary on Kahr - some love em - some have problems.

If my Bersa UC-9 is anything to go by - I'd certainly consider the compact .45.
