There was nothing wrong with the way that story was reported. They gave the facts of the case and left personal opinion out of the story- which is how it should be.
From knowing NC law and reading the story, it is evident that it was not a CCW but a permit to purchase a handgun.

They should have a special charge for this dingbat. I hope they charged him for the weed and made it impossable for him to ever get a permit.

Yeah, we don't need people who injest plant-based chemicals to alter their consiouness toting a gun...EVER!
I know no one on this site has ever smoked weed, or tobacco or drunk any alcohol.
Yes, they are all the same in my book. All evil and immoral.

The article doesn't say he was applying for a concealed carry permit. He probably was applying for a Pistol Purchase Permit. In NC you need a permit to purchase a handgun unless you have a CCW permit. You must jump thru just as many hoops to get a pistol purchase permit - and then you can only buy two handguns before reapplying for another purchase permit.
(Don't know if this is the case in other states...)
When a criminal busts down your door in the middle of the night, which would you rather have in your hand - a gun, or a phone?
When a thug shoves a gun in your face in the mall parking lot, which would you rather have in your hand - a gun, or a cellphone?

So if you want 20 pistols you have to get 10 permits to buy?

No permit needed to purchase in Ohio. I've never bought more than 2 at any one time, so I'm not sure if there's a limit, but I don't think so.

Absolutely. I have never smoked weed, or tobacco, or drunk any alcohol when I had access to a firearm. All my guns are locked in the safe first. Then I can get blasted without worrying about blasting myself. I don't operate motor vehicles while drunk, either... sheesh.

That better than my story when I got my permit.
I had to wait in line behind 4 people turning themselves in for outstanding warrants at the sheriff's office. I don't think the lady at the counter found it very funny when I quipped, "Don't you guys have a lawful citizen line?"

AHAHAHAHA. That's almost as bad as it would be to carry a concealed weapon when you go to fill out your CCH application...
