Restraining order vs. CCW

I had a restraining order AGAINST someone and was told by the judge that I had to turn in my CCW, I didnt have one at the time. And they prohibited my from even purchasing a gun until it expired.

I don't believe we ever got it through, but we were working on the exact opposite here- and I am pretty sure some states have it. It is where you are issued a de facto CCW permit if you have a restraining order against someone else. That way if you are fearful for your life of safety you would be able to carry a weapon until the issue was resolved.
