Carol Moseley Braun just got mugged !
I wonder if this will change her opinion ?
CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- Former U.S. senator and presidential candidate Carol Moseley Braun suffered a broken wrist when a mugger tried to steal her purse, authorities said Saturday.
Braun was standing with a relative at her front door late Friday when an assailant came out of the bushes and tried to take her purse, said her spokesman, Kevin Lampe. When Braun resisted, the man pulled a knife and cut the strap of the purse.

Thank goodness he had a knife. Now she can call for knife control.

Darn knives, need to ban them like in Britian and these types of crimes will go away. I expect the ban to be on all the morning news channels tomorrow from Pelosi and Reid. If only she had not resisted. I thought you were supposed to submit when attacked, so that you don't get hurt.

Never heard of her. A bit of quick research shows her to be a typical rabid disarmament type. Disarmed folks get assaulted all the time. Wishing it away didn't seem to work for her, either. When that knife was brought into play, I wonder if she thought dialing 911 might have helped ...

Look on the possible bright side. Nothing turns an anti into a gunner better and quicker than getting mugged.
Mayhaps the zebra will change her stripes.
Wishful Thinking (I know) but, it's possible.
She is lucky the mugger didn't try to cut her arm off to get her purse.

Agreed Sixto....'Irony' was the exact first thought to come to my mind upon seeing the OP.
Then I read down to see you beat me to the posting punch. :p
BTW in Scotland knives are strictly banned although based on results that ban effort didn't do them much good.

See, this is a good argument for banning knives. It's a good thing we have 911 and police, though, since she was able to just call them and the police came in a flash and apprehended the mugger... oh wait...

My plug nickle is...My dislike for criminals is greater than for those who would steal my tools through the legislative process. No matter how greatly wrong her political views are I have some sympathy for her and hope she heals up fast. Someone as rabid as she is this may only galvinize her more in her entrinched position.
Granted I would be happy if she sees the light

I doubt it.....she'll surely tie the fact that she was attacked to the fact that violence can strike anyone; and to ensure that even less people are hurt, she'll call for further gun laws...after all, her attacker didn't have one, so gun laws must work....

If she had just given the purse to her attacker err… the misunderstood, disadvantaged young man that was in reality just asking for enough money to call his pastor. This whole mess could have been avoided

I seriously doubt this will change her mind. After all, blame the knife not attacker.

I still think she'll even find a way to blame guns.

It's Bush's and the NRA's fault.
