As a local, what they don't tell you is that the mall in question, Ward Parkway, is notorious for gang violence and is on my list of places "I don't go there because I'm not looking to get killed." Also, mall security guards were not armed. And the mall was posted no concealed carry.

    Duh.

Later reports I read identified it as a Shotgun....

Which means it was a "Sporting Purpose Bird Assault Hunting Weapon"... I guess.... ;)

Man, right in my back yard. I don't much like going to malls, but when I do you can be sure I'm carrying. In fact, the only place I don't carry is at work.

You know, they like to argue the "if-your-grandma-had-gonads" argument, as though what coulda been has any meaning to us when we're living in what is. Besides the which, they always discount that the greatest mass murders ever committed have had nothing at all to do with firearms. Fire, yes. Firearms? No.

I think they want more people to die. That's why they're driving to get rid of guns, which will leave people to use gasoline and matches more often.

The nihilist cynic in me is hoping they succeed, just so that we can punch them in the face and say, "SEE?! DIDN'T WE FREAKIN' TELL YOU SO?!"
No it would probably go more like: He was just a choir boy and never did anything wrong and then this person there with a CCW just up and killed him for no reason.

It is better to have your gun and not need it, than to need it and not have it!

I live just about 2 miles from the Ward Parkway mall and I have not seen it posted. I go there about once a month. I just read that someone said it is posted. I usually go into Dick's or Starbucks.
