Daydreaming here...... Imagine making the convention at an open space right by the Virginia/DC border where the group could be seen from the DC side politicians. Theme of the convention: MOLON LABE.

But I do side with Redneck.... it is nobody business but mine that I ccw.

The closest thing I can find out about conventions of this type being held in Tennessee is an a bunch of scheduled gun shows and an annual National Wild Turkey Federation Convention and Sport Show.

I'd like to see a national level convention. I'm thinking along the lines of a "Federal Permit Legislation" theme.

Kansas is having our first annual CCL barbeque this summer... I think it definitely happens state by state.

I thought Tim at one time said something about a CC Magazine convention being held someplace. I know that means travel for a lot of people but did that idea ever go anywhere?

    Yes, necessarily.

The states I listed do not recognize the permits of any other state, regardless of whether they are resident or non-resident.

Try convincing a police officer in any of these states that a Utah or Florida non-resident permit is valid in their states. Good luck.

well, i'm pretty sure PA has recipricity with everyone but NY. plus, there's there's the poconos, mountain fresh air, skiing and other wintersports, great fishing, etc. another bonus is that there's no restriction on carrying in public, except for state and federal buildings, and casinos. all in all, PA, excepting philly, is pretty gun friendly.

Those interested in mass murder will probably skip this event.

    According to http://www.handgunlaw.us/documents/USReciprocity.pdf

The following states honor all other states cc permits: Vermont, Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah

Montana, and Texas honor 40 other states permits, and Florida and North Carolina honor 30.

The rest of the states honor less than 30.

So those are the states that I would think would be on the list to hold such an event.

The next thing to consider the most central location to everyone in the United States.

Which would mean Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri and maybe Oklahoma or Texas.

Another consideration is how good transportation is in and out of those states. Indianapolis, Louisville, St Louis, Kansas City, Nashville, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Dallas all have major Airports and Southwest Airlines has flights to all of them. Memphis is served by United, Continental, Delta and US Airways.

All of those cities have convention centers and hotel space to accommodate a small, medium or a large convention.

If it is not in the US Constitution then the Federal Government should not be doing it.

    No Carry at Convention

    Heck,

If there were a convention, they'd probably make you dis-arm, just like at the gun shows!

    God bless,

Nashville.... Centennial park. And we can use the Parthenon as location for Force on Force Training. If 101st Airborne is still open, we can have dinner there. Betty then can take us in a tour of MS-13 neighborhoods to see the local fauna and we can end up the weekend at the Grand Ole Opry.

    ccw convention

I got it!!! the convention should be spread along the border of our neighbors to the south. ILLEGAL immigration would stop for the duration of the convention

Well in all seriousness I work at a place that handles some small conventions and help with 2 large ones (700-5000 people)

Venue tends to be free at most hotels if you can fill X% of the rooms. You do that and they will wait on you hand and foot. Even at some of the more "upscale" places ( The Sheraton Premiere in
Vienna, VA did such a thing for a convention I was in and it was kinda smallish at about 400 people) So venue tends to be the easiest part, funding however is harder, as is finding sponsors/ speakers and such. May be worth a try if attempted to get the NRA and other organizations involved. You know that the Brady Bunch probally does something simliar. Sheeple do like to flock.

My place does not allow people to stay often but venue is free if you buy the meals. (Doing a Warhammer 40k con soon like that, and have hosted the Marine Corps Banquet several times). We are a dining hall equipped to feed about 1000 plus people at any given time. With the meals topping out at generally 5-7 dollars a head for all you can eat.

So basically this could be a viable option. But of course if such a thing is done it would need to be within a short distance to a large range. You cant get all these CC people together without at least SOME shooting.

If anybody is interested in actually starting a convention like this PM me cause I would like to assist as much as possible.
Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men.
