Tennessee firearms Legislative Update
Lots of pro gun laws in the works here in Tennessee. I just got my email with them all listed from the TFA (Tennessee Firearms Association).
Here is one that I would like to ask all of you about. Here is the text of the proposed bill:
Quote:
SB 1419*
Marrero
HB 1365
Kernell
CRIMINAL LAW: Unlawful possession or carrying of weapon. States that first offense of unlawful possession of a weapon with intent to go armed is punishable by a fine not to exceed $500, in addition to existing punishments; designates second or third offense as a Class B misdemeanor.
TCA Secs. 39-17-1300; 39-17-1307
Senate Status: Referred to Senate Judiciary.
House Status: Set for House Judiciary Committee 05/09/2007.
Now, what exactly does the phrase "With the intent to go armed" mean? Isn't that what we are all doing every day? I mean I do not know about all of you but I leave the house everyday with the intent to go out there well armed. And I do.
Self-defense bill passes both houses
Self-defense bill passes both houses
The Tennessee bills will soon go to Gov. Phil Bredesen, who can sign them into law, veto them or let them be come law without his signature.
