I don't only because of the risk of a media storm and overkill police/swat/national guard/special forces response if you are printed and caught. :) Much different than if caught carrying in a restaurant that serves alchohol.

Unfortunately while I do not agree with it, I follow the law. Not worth losing what rights I have forever to risk it nor to damage law abiding firearm owners more by breaking the law and giving the media an excuse. I just really try to avoid places that do not allow me to carry concealed or open. Bud is right, they are target rich environments due to the gun free zone crap which is why schools are frequent targets of cowardly scum with weapons.

Yes, it is legal in Oregon.
I will support gun control when you can guarantee all guns are removed from this planet. That includes military and law enforcement. When you can accomplish that, then I will be the last person to lay down my gun. Then I will carry the weapon that replaces the gun.

Until the average Joe figures out that thugs dont play by the rules, the school zones will remain target rich environments.

In this state, getting caught carrying on school grounds will not only get your permit, but your freedom as you will be jailed...and it wont matter if you're a good ole boy because the way that the law is written the Judge has no discretion on how he administers the sentence.

When people wake up and realize the hazard that they are putting their loved ones in by ensuring that a shooter gets free reign, then and only then will the school zone restrictions be lifted.

Even though it makes perfect sense to everyone but liberals, I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to happen.

In Ga you can carry while dropping child off or picking up child as long as you have a carry permit. School sports and other school functions are off limits.

I see you are in Virginia. You may have your legally carried firearm on your person on high school property only when dropping off and picking up a student and you may not leave your vehicle. Being caught carrying on the grounds of a high school in any other way will result in a very bad day for you. Arrest, loss of firearm(s), loss of permit and possibly more depending. CC.com doesn't advocate breaking the law. So my recommendation is you only carry in the manner prescribed in the Virginia code.

In Texas one may carry with CHL on school property, but not inside the building. School sporting events and other school sponsored gatherings at other locations, such as a stadium or ball field, are off limits. So yes and no. Frustrating since I'm a teacher. If my students are being shot at, I have to run out to the car, then make a decision to break the law if I run back into the building armed. I believe in that case I'd take my chances with the grand jury.
