I know most people here probably aren't on the website (nor was I untill recently, to join SCCC and be the campus leader at my school). However, the dates are official and a registry of those that are going to participate has been started.

That is the place to sign up, or to check up on the status of it. The official description as of right now:

    Event Info
Name: Students for Concealed Carry on Campus Empty Holster Protest
Tagline: Week long protest to allow concealed carry on campus
Host: Students for Concealed Carry on Campus
    Type: Causes - Protest

    Time and Place

Start Time: Monday, October 22, 2007 at 12:05am
End Time: Friday, October 26, 2007 at 11:55pm
Location: All Institutes of Higher Learning in America
    City/Town: National

If anybody would like to get on the official roster for it, all you have to do is register on facebook and click on the link, you'll be able to join on the right.

I realize that it asks you for your name, location, etc., but you can restrict who sees anything except for your name. I know that to some folks, that's asking too much, and I respect that. I'm just hoping that we can really get this sucker kicked off to a good start.

You can also e-mail invitations to it via facebook, or email. I found that a nice thing about facebook is the ability to search for those that you know, but rarely see. Invite friends, family, co-workers, the more of a show of support we have, the better our odds at getting this changed.

The stronger the chance of getting this changed, the stronger the chances we are of achieving all of our goals, from no restriction, to a national CCW system.

We all know the phrase about hanging together or we shall all surely hang separately.

    Let's hang together on this.

I think this is a fantastic idea.

For the money, I say the laminated paper holster idea is the best. Just make sure they are sturdy (maybe laminated brown construction paper) and folded to be 3D so people will instantly recognize them. You can easily print thousands, and it also makes it easy to include a logo and url.

If I were still going to school, I'd be happy to wear my CTAC. Good luck!

I will put out some feelers on campus to se if I can get someone interested before I leave. I only have 41/2 weeks and then I'm off to law school in KS.

Maybe I can get someone who is willing to be a student leader at my school.
