Question Is there a defensive shooting channel on TV?

    Hi,

I was reading through a lot of the threads about a week ago, and was very tired at the time... But I thought I read where someone mentioned something about a Defensive Shooting channel on TV or something related to CCW and guns?

Is there a channel like that out there on cable or satellite?

I was going to write down the thread I saw it in and ask the original poster specifically but I got sidetracked on other threads and forgot.

Anyone with any details on this please let me know!

    Thanks
    -Bark'n

I think Outdoor Channel has gun related items but cannot recall anything strictly defensive in nature.

I can't get that channel so will hope someone will step up with better info.

The Outdoor Channel has quite a few shows about things that go Bang. They were airing a Personal Defense TV (I think that was its name) with Ayoob..its currently not being broadcast...

Comcast cable has a number of gun shows on the Outdoor / Outdoor Life channel (don't remember which one). The Personal Defense TV is hosted by Tom (Grits) Gresham. It's a pretty good show and has segments that go from beginner to expert. It's definitely worth watching.

That's it! Personal Defense TV! I was wondering if it was on Outdoor Life Channel. I have Direct TV satellite and I would have to order Outdoor Life extra... So if someone can verify if they still have the program "Personal Defense TV" it would be helpful!

jackofspades says that program isn't currently aired on Outdoor Life and gunfighter48 says it's still being aired.

Thanks for any input or confirmation!

I got this email on April 9, from Jared Gustafson with The Outdoor Channel.

    Hello Joe,

Thank you for contacting the Outdoor Channel. We appreciate your comments. Personal Defense TV will return. The show was contracted for 13 episodes to air and now that they have all aired, the show is on hiatus as more great episodes are being produced. As the new episodes are being produced, we have placed a new show in its time slot. We hope you continue to enjoy the Wednesday lineup and stay tuned for Personal defense TV to return soon. If you would like a DVD copy of your favorite episodes email: personaldefensetv@primedia.com .

Thank you again for contacting The Outdoor Channel. If you have any future questions or comments, do not hesitate to contact us.

    Best regards,
    It'll be back!

    Here's the DVD link.

Re-runs of last year's PDTV were being played not long ago.

Even if it's not running right now, getting the Outdoor Channel will still get you American Rifleman, Guns & Ammo, Shooting USA and some other good shows.

Jchoo got to it before me. Yeh, they are working on new episodes as we speak ... err type. It's a good show, and Tom's radio program is excellent. Though I may be biased as he is based in my state You can listen to his show via Guntalk. He had some Springfield reps on there for a whole hour a few weeks ago.

Yep... I bought the season one DVD set of Personal Defense TV last night. I can't wait. 5 hours on 4 DVD's.

I am going to DirecTV website now to see if I can add The Outdoor Channel a'la carte to my line-up.

Thanks to all of you who responded!
