Generally within 90 days. Strongly suggest going for lifetime permit.

I applied for my permit in late February, and I got it in the mail about 3 weeks ago. They had told me it would take four to six months, so I was happy to see it earlier. Those lifetime permits have the ISP really backed up with paper work right now.

Did the permits go up in price? Mine was only $125!
    P.S. Mine only took 5 weeks(July 2006).

I renewed two years ago, and it took 13 days.

That was before the lifetime permit option. Wow. It must have really slowed things down!

Why would adding a lifetime permit slow things down so radically? Since you have to wait for a certain time "window" on your current permit before you can apply for a lifetime, it seems to me the number of people applying and the volume of paperwork would remain pretty constant.

    What am I overlooking?

I got my ccw in about 30 days some years back. My wife got hers last year and it again took only 30 days.

mine took about 6 to 8 weeks i think first time permit and they said they were backed up from lifetime apps. dont know why though any how go for the lifetime they are 125.00if you dont have a current lisc. 100.00 with current lisc. 4 year cost is 10.00 local and 30.00 state fee hope this helps a little.

My 4-year took about 8 weeks. I hear the lifetime permits can take up to 6 months. Nobody seems to know why.

Indiana's great, though. While it's not perfect, there are still very few restrictions. I really like it here.

It depends to a certain extent on when you apply also. If it close to deer season it can take a bit longer since there are a lot of folks applying for one for hunting purposes. Either a hunting or protection permit is required for handgun hunting and both are processed by the same people. My last one took about 3 months to the day.

I sent my app in to my local police. They did their thing then sent it to the ISP. I sent it in on Jan 12th. My lifetime permit was printed on April 4th. I then recieved it on April 7th(or something like that).

Now my g/f sent hers the same day that I did. She called a week after i got mine and found out they needed more info. The odd thing is they sent all her paperwork back to our address with all of her orginal paperwork.(everything was there and filled out correctly, it was approved and all my my local police dept). The only question they wanted to know was she prohibited from owing a firearm.(this question was not on the orginal app. She has been lazy and we just sent all of it back in yesterday. I hope it does not take 4 more months. She was told once they recieve it, the application will be processed. I am hoping it will not just go to the bottom of the applications and that it will get processed as soon as they get it for a faster turn around. But this is the only time we will ever have to deal with this since it is a lifetime permit.

I did read that this process was getting faster.

with the lifetime permit, I don't see why everyone should just opt for that. It gives you the same right and more than the hunting and range permits. My local police counter guy told us the same thing. Same application just pay for the lifetime and not have to worry about the other types of permits.
