Once a church was a sacred place, even to the scum. That is not the case now, so one must be prepared to meet the threat of someone coming in to harm an estranged spouse or the people present.

Not very likely, but if carrying in a church is legal, and the leadership is OK with it, then some of us do so. I have no intention of letting someone come in and kill or seriously harm my family or my church family.

You have better odds at winning the powerball then someone wanting to come in with a gun and shoot up your church, it just does not happen folks! This is just one of those things that happens every so often but common, let not get paranoid and think it could happen at your church. Why go to church if you dont think God will protect you in his house of worship? Churches around the world are still very sacred even to bad guys. I've known some bad guys who wont even go to church for a funeral much less go there to shoot up people.

Somebody always ends up winning the powerball.

No... I guess you're right... it doesn't happen

March, 2005 - Brookfield Wisconsin - 7 dead in church shooting
May, 2007 - Moscow, Idaho - 3 dead in church shooting
May, 2006 - Baton Rouge, La - 5 killed in church shooting
Sept 1995 - Fort Worth, Tx - 8 dead in church shooting

    5 minutes with google.

I think I'll go buy a powerball ticket...

As it is in Texas, my church doesn't display the 30.06, therefore, I'm legal...

So what thats 4 out of how many? Thousands and thousands of churches and did they happen on sundays or a different day? And that span of time is what 11 years? Get your facts straight man and learn not to be paranoid. Like i said you HAVE a better chance at winning the powerball then getting shot in church. How many people have got killed in church by a gun, not by fire but by a gun vs powerball winners? A lot more powerball winners, that should tell you something.

Given statistics, we all have a very low chance of ever needing to use our carry weapon. We keep our eyes open and avoid situations that would put is in danger. Nevertheless it happens. I am not paranoid. I do not think there is someone out to get "me". But I am a realist and things do happen and I will not take such a chance.

You say God will protect those in churches. Yes, He will; but He expects us to do our part.

No... I'm not paranoid, but somewhat of a realist.

Enjoy a career of over 32 years as a Paramedic and you will see that things happen to people when they least expect it. You also get an up close and personal exposure to what one human is capable of doing to another.

As CopperKnight stated... "I do not think there is someone out to get "me". But I am a realist and things do happen and I will not take such a chance.

I agree that the odds are very much against. However, some of us carry all the time anyway, and it is not any trouble to carry in church.

The odds of my ever needing to use deadly force are likewise miniscule.
I don't try to second guess God, or try to put Him in a box.
I once was asked by another Christian why I, a Christian, had an alarm on my doors. I asked him if he left his keys in the car, or left his doors unlocked. That ended that discussion.

I do not expect anyone to attack my church, but if so, then I will do what I can. Satan hates the church, and so do certain groups. More and more we see that hate, and so how will it manifest itself next Sunday? I do not know, but as long as my pastor does not object, and it is legal I will carry.

    Regards,
    Jerry

I carry because I can, to protect my family and others should the need arise. How sick would you feel should something bad go down...knowing you "could" have minimized the body count to BG.

I could not live with that should it happen.

I am up front in the band at church...I carry everywhere!

God gave me the right, the ability and the good sense to use all of these gifts for the good of all.

I have the double whammy in Kansas. It's illegal to carry in schools and in churches here, and my church meets in the local high school.
Gun Control means never having to say "I missed you."

    - Glock 27 (.40)
    - Kel-Tec p3at (.380)
    - Beretta 96FS (.40)
    - Smith & Wesson 5906 (9mm)
